Respite Kits
Thistle Farms is creating respite kits for these travelers to take on their next journey. These kits, bearing messages of love as well as basic hygiene supplies, will be distributed by The Humanitarian Respite Center to more than 1,000 families and individuals who have been released from detention and have entered the asylum process.

When families and individuals seek asylum at the US/Mexico border, The Humanitarian Respite Center, in McAllen Texas, is the first place where they will feel truly welcomed. It is where they are fed and can rest. They can take a shower, make a phone call to a loved one, get clean clothes. It is where they complete one long journey and begin another.
Thistle Farms, a nonprofit that employs survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction, along with volunteers and donors throughout the country, is creating respite kits for these travelers to take on their next journey. These kits, bearing messages of love as well as basic hygiene supplies, will be distributed by The Humanitarian Respite Center to more than 1,000 families and individuals who have been released from detention and have entered the asylum process.
We invite you send a message of welcome and love by sponsoring one or more Respite Kits. The Thistle Farms products in the kit are created to promote wellness and healing.
A $25.00 gift will cover all supplies and the shipping cost to Texas. Each Respite Kit, pictured above, contains:
