Introducing Kristina, 2020 Thistle Farms Residential Graduate
When we last checked in with Kristina it was a 2019 late summer morning at Thistle Farms. She spoke of her job as a floater in the manufacturing department and her love of the Thistle Farms community. Kristina's good nature and love remain, and a lot has changed for her since our last talk.
Kristina is now a manufacturing Team Leader, has represented Thistle Farms nationally, most notably on The Kelly Clarkson Show along with Thistle Farms Founder Becca Stevens, and she is enjoying her place on the list of Thistle Farms Residential graduates dating back two decades. Our graduates call themselves "sisters for life" with good reason. Graduates look after each other with the tenderness, and sometimes the sheer force of sisters. The bonds between these special women is stronger than anything that might tear them apart, and being a part of this lifelong network of support is considered an honor.
“All of this is a miracle. I’m graduating from Magdalene (Thistle Farms Residential Program) and I'm amazed that I get to open this new chapter of life sober and in a loving community with a great job.
“Life today is awesome. Breathtaking. Unbelievable. I really have to pinch myself when I think about the honor it’s been to get to speak to people on behalf of all of us who are fighting the disease of addiction. Taking our message to the audience of The Kelly Clarkson Show was a gift. Now I’m looking to the future with excitement and gratitude and I trust myself to make good decisions.”
Way to go, Kristina! Your optimism and passion for your recovery is a beautiful thing to witness. We can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
While we are unable to hold a public graduation this spring due to COVID–19, the Thistle Farms community couldn’t be more proud and hopeful for Kristina and all of this year's graduates.
