Thistle Farms Launches Phase II of Growth Campaign

Largest individual gift in our history will seed the strengthening of our infrastructure and expansion of our programs and social enterprises.

In 2017, Thistle Farms raised $3.8m to repair crumbling facilities and manufacturing space.

The impact was immediate.

Two years, 100,000 guests, and a 55% sales increase later, Thistle Farms is focusing on the next phase of our growth campaign.

The $2.2m goal will expand both our residential and social enterprise capabilities.

Late last year, we were honored to receive a $1.1m grant — the single largest gift in our 23 history — from The Martin Foundation to kickstart this campaign. There are no words to express how grateful we are to Shannon and Charlie Martin for this phenomenal investment. It has allowed us to start the new year dreaming big and moving fast.

Our goal is to raise the remaining balance, which will allow us to:

  • Expand Our Residential Services by 30%
We aim to reduce our 100+ waiting list, as well as creating the space to serve trafficking survivors needing crisis support and housing.
  • Build Greater National Awareness and A Platform For Action
Through education and advocacy, Thistle Farms will provide a channel for people across the country to join the movement for women’s freedom from trafficking, trauma, and addiction.
  • Reposition Our Product and Sales Strategy
To continue growing, we must ensure people are equally excited about our products as they are our mission. Through elevated packaging and a giftable product catalog, we will grow online sales from $1.1m to $2.5m in 36 months. This will result in approximately 25 new jobs for survivors, higher wages, and expanded mission impact.
  • Strengthen Our Systems Infrastructure
To increase outputs and improve margins across all product lines, we must replace aging hardware and purchase additional manufacturing equipment.
One of the best pieces of advice I ever received in my life was “you can’t be afraid to go out on a limb, because that is where the fruit is”.

The need is great, but the opportunity is greater.

We would love to have you join us.
