New Year and New Opportunities

Every New Year brings a sense of beginning and this year is no different.  Without a doubt, many of us have spent some time thinking about new opportunities available to us. For Angela, that new opportunity has been a long time in the making and she is eager for the change.

Every New Year brings a sense of beginning and this year is no different.  Without a doubt, many of us have spent some time thinking about new opportunities available to us. For Angela, that new opportunity has been a long time in the making and she is eager for the change.

Angela began working at The Café at Thistle Farms when she was just 60 days clean and was still without a home. She started as a dishwasher and then moved her way up to the kitchen for food prep, then to the front of house as a barista and customer service. She ended up as the closing manager and the expediter at the café window, responsible for thousands of beautiful plates served to our guests. In addition, Angela was the initiator of our well known “welcome to the café” greeting that customers receive every time they walk in the door.

After four and half years in the café Angela has accepted the position of Case Coordinator with Thistle Farms Residential. She is putting all that she learned at the café into practice in her new role. When asked about how she’s feeling about the adventure ahead she said, “Grateful. So grateful. I wanted something different and had the opportunity for this internal move. I am using all I learned about commitment, conflict resolution and leadership in my new role. It is exciting to use those skills working alongside the residents and residential team and I look forward to everything that’s ahead.”

Congratulations, Angela. We're so proud of you!
