I have a new sense of freedom knowing that I can go anywhere and not be afraid anymore. I can finally go back home and enjoy visits with my grandchild, without looking over my shoulder in fear.

During Shelia’s time at Thistle Farms she had healed, grew, and strengthened her relationship with her family.
Despite the significant strides in her recovery, outstanding charges continued to weigh on Shelia's mind. She confided in her Thistle Farms community and and a petition was presented on her behalf. Soon after, Shelia was overwhelmed with gratitude to learn the charges were dropped.
She says, “I have a new sense of freedom knowing that I can go anywhere and not be afraid anymore. I can finally go back home and enjoy visits with my grandchild, without looking over my shoulder in fear.”
