Its simple, elegant form is made from traditional black clay and topped with a natural wood lid, creating a beautiful way to keep spices and other small kitchen essentials close at hand. A subtle silvery shine reflects the firing process, while natural variations in tone created by the fire make each jar uniquely one of a kind.

Created by Cooperativa 1050, this functional piece carries forward generations of black clay pottery traditions from San Bartolo Coyotepec while bringing beautiful Mexican craftsmanship into the everyday kitchen.

Use: Ideal for storing spices and other small kitchen essentials
Care: Hand wash with a soft sponge and dry completely before storing. Do not leave filled with water for more than three days. Do not use over direct heat, as black clay is not suitable for cooking over fire.

We currently ship to contiguous United States, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Gifts or items containing matches are not eligible for shipping to Hawaii or expedited shipping.
Hand Sanitizer is not eligible for shipping to PO Boxes, Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. Ground only, and no expedited shipping available.

Orders are processed and shipped Monday-Friday. Fulfillment may take 3-5 business days (though we will do our best for it to be faster).

We primarily ship via USPS. Other carriers may be used for PO Boxes or specific shipping arrangements. Additional shipping charges may apply if an order is returned to us by the carrier.

Return Policy

We offer a 30 day return window for product purchased from ThistleFarms.org, The Shop At Thistle Farms or at an official Thistle Farms pop-up event. For exchanges, please process a return and re-order the item you wish to receive.

For issues with Thistle Farms products purchased from other retailers, please contact that retailer directly for a replacement or refund.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can send it back for a full refund within 30 days of receiving your order. To be eligible for a return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase, and your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

A pre-paid shipping label will be provided and a $7 shipping cost dedicated from the refund. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send an email to notify you when your refund has been processed.

The only items we cannot issue a refund on are items purchased that have been marked down, gift cards, special orders, and shipping charges.
