The black color is the result of a natural oxidation process, free of chemicals, lead, or glaze.

The beautiful patina is achieved by burnishing the pottery before putting it in a wood-fired oven. This process creates unique patterns in the finish - lighter colors that hint at the original clay color and silver sections according to how much heat they receive. Each piece has a one-of-a-kind identity - just like the women who handcraft it.

5.5 inches in diameter x 4.5 inches in height

Our parts are free of harmful chemicals and lead-free, safe to eat and drink.
The texture, color, and brightness of the pieces will change with use; a kind of magic that we find fascinating.
The clay usually "sweats" a little at first, if this happens, "cure" your piece by immersing it in water for 24 hours, then wash it carefully and let it dry. For vases and jugs, place a base for the first few days so as not to wet your table or tablecloth.
Do not leave a piece with water for more than three days, it could soften and break.
Wash your parts by hand with a soft sponge before using them for the first time (and after each use). Do not store them while they are damp to avoid mold. If this happens, wash them thoroughly and dry them in the sun.
All our pieces, except those made of black clay, can be used for cooking over direct heat or in the oven (when doing so they can be smoked and change color). Do not immerse the parts in cold water when they are hot or use them on electric grills.
