Made by survivor artisans of YEWO in Malawi to lift marginalized communities out of poverty.
The Dambo Earrings feature an arch brass design, paired with a circular teak wood statement. Dambo means "marshland' in Tumbuka.
Deforestation is a huge environmental threat to Malawi. No live trees were hurt in marking of these wood items! Instead, YEWO utilizes fallen teak branches and off-cuts to make all of their wood jewelry pieces.
These earrings are handmade in Mawai using recycled, regionally sourced brass.

Demographic of Artisans: Extreme Poverty
Yewo is fighting poverty in rural Malawi by investing in local leaders through artisan training, holistic job creation, and sustainable employment. They love to talk about the perks: small business training, daily meals, personal budgeting classes, staff parties and more.
