Becca Stevens
Becca is an author, speaker, priest, social entrepreneur, and the founder and president of Thistle Farms.
Thistle Farms hosts 32 women survivors in Nashville with free healing and housing, a network of 500+ beds for survivors across the country, and a network of 40 social enterprises around the world.
And we're just getting started.
Pearl Ncube
Pearl is the Founder and Managing Director of Ratong Women's Center in Botswana. She holds a degree in Business Management from UNISA in
South Africa, which she leverages in her work with nonprofits for fundraising and resource mobilization.
Pearl has served as the National Secretary for Botswana Hospice and Palliative Care Association, which advocates for people living with chronic illnesses such as cancer and AIDS.
Currently, she serves on committees for Botswana Police Services, Gender and Children Protection in Gaborone and Village Development for Gaborone North District.
Winny Obure
Winny is a women’s rights defender from Kenya with over 8 years of experience in community development advocating for Gender Equality and Social Economic Empowerment of women and girls.
In 2016, she received the Integrity Champions Award from the National Integrity Alliance and recognition in her Komarocks Location Community as an Advocate of Children’s Rights. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Winny plans to continue her work on Women and Girls Rights with a focus on Sexual Gender Based Violence and Reproductive Health Rights.
Colombian Jazz Musician, Marcela Pinilla
Marcela's musical journey has taken her around the world. Her first performance was at age 5 and her first international tour at 15.
She arrived in Memphis from South America in 2009. While there, she collaborated with The Memphis Jazz Orchestra, Orquesta Caliente, and Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Her album, PASSION features Grammy winners saxophonist Kirk Whalum and bassist Victor Wooten.
Today, she calls Music City Nashville home. She was nominated for best jazz vocalist at the Nashville Industry Music Awards in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Her dreams of performing at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and Bridgestone Arena have already come true.
