Fruit bowl in black clay with playful holes to make your fruit colors stand out and invite you for a fresh snack. This will add a simple and original look to any kitchen.

The design of this bowl is inspired by the traditional Pichancha, a ceramic colander used for rinsing corn. They are perfect for holding fruit or vegetables as the holes allow air to flow through and keep everything fresh.

  • 8.5 x 8.5 x 6 inches

The black color is the result of a natural oxidation process, free of chemicals, lead, or glaze. The beautiful patina is achieved by burnishing the pottery before putting it in a wood-fired oven. This process creates unique patterns in the finish - lighter colors that hint at the original clay color and silver sections according to how much heat they receive. Each piece has a one-of-a-kind identity - just like the women who handcraft it.

We currently ship to the contiguous U.S. and Alaska.

  • $8.50 flat rate shipping
  • Free shipping on orders over $100

Meet the Artisans

Country: Oaxaca, Mexico

Demographic of Artisans: Extreme Poverty

1050° is the temperature at which tradition and modernity merge to turn mud into beauty.

Colectivo 1050° is cultivating a community that elevates the symbolic, cultural and commercial value of pottery.

In so doing, they are not just restoring an ancient craft, but expanding the economic potential for women artisans in the state of Oaxaca.

With the renewed revenue from this ancient craft, women in Oaxaca are spinning clay from the earth into revenue to build schools, change laws, and overcome the gang violence of their community.
