Nestled in the middle of the Colombian Andes, Boyacá is known as one of the regions where important battles of independence took place. Being home to some of the most beautiful high peak mountains, it symbolizes the beauty of colder Andean Colombian landscapes and town life and the resilient culture that emerged from the independence battles. Guacamayas, Boyacá is also home to the traditional craft of coil basket weaving, where these baskets are made.

The round basket is the perfect storage for fruit. Designed with an organic line design of fique fiber, each basket is made with a traditional coil technique found in the region of Boyacá.

Following an era of intense conflict, which continues to shape and affect Colombia today, Zuahaza seeks to participate in the peacemaking efforts to reunite and heal their country.
