Freedom is a treasure we discover after searching through our shadowed valleys and crossing oceans of injustice and oppression. From the past, freedom survived because of the sweat of ancestors who possessed the humility and courage to work towards its promise.
Freedom for women who have been trafficked and addicted and imprisoned looks like surviving hells in search of sanctuary. We have learned from the experiences of our lives that freedom is bound to forgiveness in which we wish no harm to come to another.
Freedom for our future is an ideal that lives on the mountaintop. It is the bright hope that keeps us working, walking, and saying to anyone who will listen, "love heals".
